When Bentley is ready to showcase its new vehicles, they may not always wait until an official reveal. This means they’re excited about what they’ve brought to the table – and there’s nothing wrong with the rest of us getting excited as well.
In this case, the news is about the 2016 Bentley Continental GT. They’ve released both photos as well as information ahead of the 2015 Geneva Auto Show where Bentley previously intended to do the official reveal. There’s still bound to be plenty of excitement at the show, but people can get a heads up and form better questions using what they already know.
The Bentley Continental GT has been a part of the Bentley family for some time. The 2016 version has some changes made that give the GT a fresh look, and the power boost it receives from a bit of new engineering is nice as well. The trunk lid is more sculpted for improved aerodynamics, new wheel options are available, and on the inside you’ll find larger shifter paddles, upgraded chrome work, and more. It’s a great number of little things that all come together to be noticed by fans of the GT or Bentley brand in general.
When you get the chance to look under the hood of any Bentley Continental GT for sale (when it finally does go on sale, that is), you’ll find a 6.0-liter W-12 engine now has an output of 582 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque. That’s an increase of 15 units for both horsepower and torque. There’s also a variable-displacement system that lets the engine run on just six cylinders when you don’t need full power.
It’s exciting stuff, and even more information will quickly flood the luxury car world once people check out the 2016 Bentley Continental GT at the Geneva Auto Show.
