Bentley Mulsanne Goes Electric

Every year the world grows a little bit smaller and a little bit more aware of the impact – or footprint – that we have on it. As such, restrictions continue to become more stringent and put pressure on car manufacturers. Luxury leader Bentley is responding – starting with the Bentley Mulsanne. With an all-electric powertrain, it gives eco-friendly a whole new meaning.

Many countries are looking toward a zero-emissions future, including China, Germany, and other parts of Europe. Right now the Mulsanne features a powerful V8; the legendary automaker is considering ways to reduce dependence on fossil fuel. Marketing manager for Bentley, Hans Holzgartner, believes that an electric powertrain would be well suited to the Bentley Mulsanne.

Already strong, powerful – and with the luxuriousness of the ride as a top priority –  it is just the sort of vehicle to drive Bentley into the future. While other cars are all about speed and strength, the Bentley brand is about the ride and the experience. So why not do it without the need for gas?

While you won’t find an electric Mulsanne at a Bentley car dealership yet, it’s something to keep an eye out for. They know it’s the perfect choice for people who do primarily city driving. When you find yourself in traffic, why idle, waste gas, and release emissions into the atmosphere when you can be running on clean electricity?
