Introducing the Bentley New Management Team

Director of Design

Bentley Motors is proud to announce Tobias Sühlmann as the new Director of Design, effective February 1, 2023. With a distinguished 20-year career, Sühlmann brings a wealth of experience in automotive designs to the Bentley new management team.

He’s held senior positions at McLaren, Aston Martin, Bugatti, and Volkswagen. As Head of Exterior Design at Bentley since 2021, Sühlmann made a crucial contribution to the design of the Batur. The new Bentley Batur shifted from the known Bentley design to a new contemporary electric design.

Reporting directly to Dr. Matthias Rabe, Bentley Board Member for Research and Development, Sühlmann succeeds Andreas Mindt, who moves to the Head of Design role at Volkswagen Passenger Cars.

Bentley’s Extraordinary Talent Search

In addition to hiring some new top management, Bentley Motors is looking for “extraordinary talent” to help accelerate its path to full electrification. The luxury marque is creating 200 new roles and investing in hybrid working, with a mix of onsite and remote opportunities available. About 50% of these positions are focused on electrical competencies as Bentley looks to launch five new electric models by 2030.
