Looking for the newest luxury car is a bit like hunting, a bit like winning the lottery. You can keep an eye out for it for a long time and never see a thing – and then one day there it is, flashing past in all its hidden gear while the Bentley paparazzi quickly snap photos in hopes of figuring out what they might roll out next.

In this case, it’s all about the Bentley Bentayga. For a long time, people speculated on what Bentley might be doing when it comes to creating a Bentley SUV. But Bentley kept everyone in the dark, allowing them to formulate their own ideas and hypotheses. Then photos surfaced of a Bentley SUV prototype in testing. It didn’t have a name, and not much was known except that it was out and about in the wild, leading to plenty of anticipation and excitement in the process.

Bentley finally owned up to the concept and announced they had the Bentley Bentayga. This was to be their new luxury SUV and would share the same platform as vehicles such as the Audi Q7. The photos of the Bentayga were taken in Sweden and reveal something closer in shape to the Porsche Cayenne, but much is still difficult to discern due to the lack of certain aspects and the blackout camouflage.

While there’s no idea of what might be under the hood, so far Bentley is claiming the Bentayga will be the fastest SUV on the market with a top speed of 200 mph. No one will know anything for sure until Bentley releases more information – but the Bentley Bentayga is expected to go on sale later on this year as a 2016 model, so it may be a matter of waiting with bated breath. But that doesn’t mean we can’t still make plenty of guesses.
