Like many other auto manufacturers, UK’s Bentley has laid out plans for total electrification of all its luxury vehicles by 2030.

Bentley has been in the business of luxury car manufacture for over a century, and it has realized that the days of gas-powered vehicles will soon be coming to an end.

Bentley has already started electrifying its luxury vehicles and by 2026, most of its vehicles will either be electric or hybrid.

However, it is hoping to have all Bentleys electrified by 2030. To remain competitive in the luxury auto market, Bentley is planning for a whole family of electric cars.

Bentley’s statement regarding its shift towards electric vehicles is not surprising; there is global concern about the environment and the auto industry, like many other businesses, is going GREEN.

Auto manufacturers that already lead in the world of electric vehicles include Chevrolet with its Volt, Toyota with its Prius, and Nissan with its Leaf. Consumers are also looking for environmentally friendly vehicles and are willing to sacrifice performance and long-distance travel.

Several cities (e.g., Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris) with a huge demand for luxury vehicles like Lamborghini, Porsche, and Mercedes have announced that they will soon start to prohibit gas-powered vehicles.

To meet such demands, many luxury automakers like Bentley have started to take benefit of the wheel spinning torque that EV can deliver with their noiseless functioning on city streets.

Bentley is also working on an extended-range battery pack because it has a wealthy customer base who are willing to pay a premium for their road travels.

Besides the Bentley electric car, other luxury automakers are following the same electrification trend. Aston Martin is hoping that within several years, at least 20 percent of the purchases will be for electric cars.
