Bentley SUV: Bentayga

Have you been keeping up with your Bentley news? Have you been keeping an ear out for the new Bentley SUV? Moreover, have you been listening for the name of it?

The newest addition to the Bentley family has finally been given a name – or at least, Bentley has finally deigned to tell us what that name is. Bentley Bentayga. The Bentayga has been looked at – rather, as much as possible – by people who do everything they can to catch a glimpse of new Bentley vehicles whenever they appear. But companies like Bentley are very good at keeping their new cars under wraps (oftentimes literally), and it wasn’t until the North American International Auto Show that Bentley formally announced the eventual arrival of the Bentley Bentayga, an SUV of Bentley’s own design that they plan to debut later on this year, though it won’t go on sale until 2016.

They’ve also released a teaser video (below) that showcases the Bentayga tackling a large sand dune with very little resistance. Before long, the Bentayga turns and sits at the top, awaiting its next challenge. Even the video doesn’t give viewers much to see of the Bentayga. Aside from a few long-distance shots, the majority of the video is done in first person – straight out the front windshield without any look at the interior design. An excellent teaser, to be sure. We can see a little – but not a lot. We have a name, but not much else.
