BENTLEY SUV RUMOR
It if happens, Look for it at Braman Bentley in 2016
Bentley has put together such a handsome, luxurious, high-performance package in the current line of vehicles that it makes you wonder how they could make it any better. A ‘buy one, get one free’ sale? Sure… but unlikely. So how about a bit more room inside so that the family could take the Bentley to the lake and go water skiing instead of the ‘other car?’ And maybe there could be a bigger trunk for gear or even… dare we say it?… groceries?
Okay, you’ve got it… in 2016, anyway. Responding to rapturous reviews of a concept SUV called the EXP 9 F that appeared at major auto shows in 2012, Bentley Motors has confirmed that it will proceed with the development of the as-yet-unnamed Bentley SUV.
While no specifics are yet available on the mechanical specifications, Bentley President Christophe Georges has promised it will be the most luxurious and most powerful SUV on the market. Knowledgeable speculation has the upcoming SUV built on a stretched and modified version of the next VW Touareg and Porsche Cayenne platform, and sharing drivetrains with the Continental GT, which offers a choice of twin-turbo W-12 or 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 driving all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Also expected on the new Bentley SUV are Electronic differential lock, adaptive air suspension, front and rear vented disc brakes, anti-theft alarm, heated windshield nozzles, power tailgate, leather seats, iPod, Blueooth and Sirius radio connectivity, as well as parking system with camera, auto-dimming, power-adjustable and power-folding heated exterior mirrors with integrated LED turn signals, xenon plus headlights with automatic self-leveling and integrated LED daytime running lights.
Letting the sunshine in will be a panorama sunroof. Equipment also includes driver memory, Multi Media Interface system including navigation, voice control system and an eight-color driver information display. Dual front, side and side-curtain airbags are fitted as standard, as are traction and stability control systems.
Bentley plans to sell only approximately 3,000 of the new SUV model annually, with pricing in keeping with its Continental pedigree… making it not only the fastest, most powerful and most luxurious SUV in the world, but also the most exclusive.
If and when it makes its production debut, look for it in the showroom of Braman Bentley Palm Beach in 2016.
